The History of Joseph Aaron Keller
- Joe appreciates the simple things in life. He can be at his happiest eating cereal and reading a comic book, which is good for me since I am a terrible cook :)
- Joe is a freaking genius. I am always amazed at his mathematical prowess. It totally blows me away.
- Not only is Joseph beyond smart in math, he is also a very good writer. I know he doesn't think that he is, but I have edited many-a-paper for him and have always been impressed. In fact, Joseph used to write me these long Facebook messages when we were friends and when we were dating and that's why I first started to like him. I am a writer and love grammar, and Joe's messages were perfectly punctuated. There is nothing sexier than a man who knows how to properly use nested quotes. "Grammar is the math of English" is what Joe always says. Love that.
- I truly admire Joe's patience. Patience with me, patience with school, patience with life. I know that I needed to marry a man that was blessed with patience, as I have zero tolerance and patience for basically anything.
- Heavenly Father knew that I needed a man like Joe that could help me step back, take a deep breath, and realize that not everything in life is worth being stressed about. Joseph is always calm, cool and collected.
- Joseph helps me keep things in perspective, especially spiritual things. He is always there to comfort me in times of trial and need. He helps me realize that everything in life is on the Lord's time.
- Joseph is so funny. He has such a jovial spirit, which I thoroughly enjoy.
Joe and his first College Experience - When Joe was two years old, I signed up at Pierce College to take a parent class with him. I was the only Father and the rest was Mothers. This lasted 6 weeks, All the Mothers thought Joe was the greatest. All mothers thought Todd was the greatest! He would show off this talents each time we went to Class. He was always sharing his toys and food with the other children, especially the girls. He was very happy, and all the little girls loved Joe.
Joe and the Truck – One day Joe and left our house on 63 Ave in my old Dodge 4x4 truck. We started to take a left turn on Canyon. As I was making this turn with traffic rushing towards us the passenger door where Joseph was sitting swung open and Joseph disappeared out the door to the road below. My heart raised as I envisioned him being ran over by my truck or the speeding traffic behind us. At the split second I noticed that there was weight on the seatbelt that extended out the door. With super human strength as only a parent has when saving a child’s life, I pulled as hard as I could on the seat belt that brought Joseph from out of nowhere back into the truck. I quickly pulled the truck over to the side of the road and tried to catch my breath and stop shaking. Apparently when the door flew open, the seat belt had been shut in the door which allowed Joseph to fall-out, but not completed to the ground. He landed on the metal door step. He had a glass thimble just given him by his babysitter, Leslie Warmoth on his finger which chipped from the road, but that was the only thing that hit the road. I turned the truck around and went right back to the house to recover from this event. When Joseph recalled the event he was sure that it was Jesus that saved him.
Joe’ Trail to Eagle Scout – Joe started scouting when he was 7 years old with Tiger Scouts at Firgrove Elementary Cub Pack . His Tiger Scout leader was Kathy Wegner. Kathy and Art Wegner worked with Joe throughout his Cub and WEBLOS years completing many ranks, projects, and other activities. There were many people involved with Joe’s obtaining his Eagle Scout Rank. His scoutmaster was Jack Ehlen, who took the boys camping each month and went to scout camp each year. Joe went to Camp Hahobas for scout camp where he completed his Wilderness Survival and other merit badges. Joe completed a 50 mile hike in the Olympic Nation Park with his Dad, Ken Warmoth, and other scouts. In 2002 he participated in the BSA National Jamboree in Virginia. Pres. Monson was in attendance for Sacrament Service with hundreds of Scouts. Joe received his Eagle Rank at the age of 15. His eagle project was to spread gravel down at Decoursey park in Puyallup. Over 20 people participated in this project including his Grandpa K , Grandma J, Mom and Dad, and many others scouts and friends. Joe’s Eagle Court of Honor was attended by over a hundred people including state representative, Mark Brouillet, and ? Joe received a special WWI Flag that had belonged to his Great Grandfather William Ivan Keller, who fought in France during WWI.
