The History of Mackenzie Leigh Keller
I’m Mackenzie Keller. I’m the third child of four children. I was born on September 3rd 1991 in Tacoma, Washington. I lived in Puyallup Washington my whole life. I lived in only one house for 19 years of my life.
I went to Zeiger Elementary School. My favorite teacher was Ms. Disbrow and Ms. Gorham. The activities I did in grade school were math relay, track, basketball, volleyball, and choir. I was homeschooled since I was in 7th grade. I graduated high school in 2010. I got my black belt in Tae Kwon Do in September 2008. It took me two years to get my black belt! After I got my black belt, I stopped doing it. I would like to go back again. I started playing the guitar in 2005. I played the piano for a couple of years and I stopped playing it.
In 7th grade, I played volleyball, soccer, basketball and track and I made the soccer team for Ballou Jr. High School when I was in the 8th grade. I did track and cross country in junior high and Roger’s high school. My favorite sport that I did in school was cross country because we did everything as a team. We warmed up together, did the workout together, cooled down together and left together. We did everything as a team. The coach always encouraged us to do our very best. I did photography, ceramics and American Sign Language at Rogers High School. My favorite subject in school was photography and sign language.
I went to the Seattle Mariners’ spring training with my parents in Arizona in 2005. I went to two of their games and got a lot of autographs! I go to the Seattle Mariners and the Tacoma Rainiers games every year. I climbed Mount St. Helens in 2009. I did it in about 14 hours. I played softball in 2005. Our team name was the Buzz. I got a HUGE bruise on the side of my knee and I had it for a couple of months. On September 10, 2011, I ran a half marathon in Lake Chelan, Washington in 2 hours and 12 minutes. I’ve been to four concerts. I went to Jericho Road, Kirby Heyborne, Chris Daughtry, and Kirby Heyborne/Corbin Allred’s concerts.
My favorite things to do in my free time are going camping, hiking, running, cooking, eating, dancing, listening to music, reading, doing word searches and Sudoku, taking pictures, playing sports, watching baseball, playing with little children, and hanging out with my friends and family. I like to go water skiing and ride horses every chance I get. I like all kinds of foods and to try new recipes. My favorite things to make are cookies, pies, and smoothies. Also, l enjoy cooking with my family and friends as much as I can. My favorite TV shows are American Idol, Psych, Chuck, Castle, Monk and Bones. My favorite kinds of books are mystery and adventure. My favorite kinds of movies are mystery, comedy, scary and action.
I just finished my third journal and started on my fourth journal! I have broken 2 bones. I broke my left collar bone when I was 6 years old and my left pointer finger when I was 14 years old. The first time was when I was at my grandpa’s house and I was walking on a log. The log was wet and slippery. I slipped and fell and I broke my collar bone. The second time was when I was playing basketball with my friend and we were both going to get the ball at the same time. I thought my finger was jammed and bruised. A couple days later, I went to the doctor to see if my finger was broken or not. Unfortunately, it was broken.
I had my first calling after I graduated from high school. I was a primary worker, teaching the 5-6 year olds. I had a lot of fun working with the class. Now my calling is FHE rep in the YSA branch. My first job was a babysitting job. I remember when I was at the Kerrs and I would work on my schoolwork without the lights on. Sister Kerr would say ‘there is something called light’. So, she would turn on the light.
One time on Laurel High Adventure, my friend and I got lost on a hike. We got behind the first group and we were ahead of the second group. We took the wrong turn and we were going up the mountain and not down the mountain. We walked up the mountain for awhile, and then realized we were going the wrong way. So, we went back down the way we came. Finally we found our way back to the beginning. It took about half an hour.
I got in a car accident in August 2011. It was my first car accident and I was the first one of my siblings to total a car. Three of my friends were in the car with me. It was my fault. I was turning onto a road and I didn’t stop all the way at the stop sign. I didn’t see the car coming and I hit the car. It is a GOOD thing that I didn’t get a ticket!!
I was also the first one of my siblings to run out of gas in the car. I was on a date and I was dropping off the guy at his house. We were on the freeway when we ran out of gas. I had to call my parents to come and put some gas in the car. It took about an hour and half.
